50% Off Acupuncture for Ukrainian Refugees in Toronto: $35 per Session

In short

Starting October 26, 2026, Margo’s Clinic in downtown Toronto offers 50% off acupuncture to Ukrainian refugees displaced by the war since February 2022 who live with anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress (PTSD): $35 per session instead of the $70 promotional price ($45, 50% off the regular $90, for treatment starting after January 1, 2027). Margo is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, and the first consultation is free. Acupuncture is offered as support alongside care from a doctor or psychotherapist, not as a replacement.

Since 2022, many Ukrainians have made a new start in Toronto. Many also carry what they lived through: trouble sleeping, nightmares, feeling constantly on alert, panic, low mood, headaches and tension that will not let go. These are common reactions to war and displacement, and they deserve care.

Margaryta “Margo” Goncharenko trained as a physician in Ukraine before she studied acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has practised in Toronto since 2002 and is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Registered Acupuncturist (R. TCMP, R. Ac) with the CTCMPAO. She is fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, so you can explain how you feel in your own language.

How Acupuncture May Help After War Trauma

Acupuncture is used to help calm the nervous system. For many people, it may help ease anxiety, improve sleep and reduce muscle tension, which often come with trauma. Margo looks at your whole pattern, including sleep, appetite, energy and mood, and chooses points for you. Learn more about acupuncture for anxiety and acupuncture for depression.

Acupuncture does not cure PTSD, and research on acupuncture for PTSD is still limited. The main treatments for PTSD are trauma-focused psychotherapy and, when needed, medication prescribed by a doctor. Acupuncture can be part of your care alongside them. Do not stop or change any medication without talking to your doctor.

For anxiety and depression, treatment is usually a course of 1–2 weeks of daily visits, Monday to Friday. Margo confirms the plan with you at the free consultation.

What Happens at Your First Visit

  • A free, private conversation with Margo in Ukrainian, Russian or English.
  • A review of your health history, sleep and current treatment.
  • An Electro-Meridian Imaging assessment, which is painless and takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • A treatment plan, with the number of sessions and the fee, before you decide anything.
